Getting ready for the show

"Since I was a child, I liked singing, but my parents wanted me to have a more stable job, so I didn't choose art," said Qingzi. She started the vocal music training in primary school and had to give up until the high school due to the heavy schooling. After entering university, she started the hobby again and the solid singing skills let Qingzi won lots awards form many competitions.

In 2012, she joined Hainan Daily newspaper group as soon as she finished the study of journalism but she didn't give up singing. "In November 2018, I sent some of the videos and resumes I had recorded over the years to the 'Golden 100 seconds' program, and there was little hope because I knew the number of applicants was high," Qingzi recalled that it was a long time before she received an unexpected call from the program group. Considering Hainan was far from Beijing and there were detailed video materials, Qingzi didn't have to be interviewed by the program group and could be directly on the stage.

The opportunity is always reserved for those who are prepared. Qingzi choose a song and the rich experience made her singing very well.

The identity of newspaper editor is a bright spot.

"Why the director choose me had a lot to do with my job as the newspaper editor," said Qingzi. Under the background of declining print media, people would wonder why a '90s' young girl is sticking to it. In the program, Qingzi not only vividly told the story of an old couple but also showed her adherence to the newspaper industry by presenting the newspaper clipping book.

"We read a lot of newspapers every day and cut them up when we found the good articles. We must wash our hand before every meal because our fingers were covered with black ink," said Qingzi.

"Since I love this profession, I will try my best to do it, no matter how it is discussed by people. Now that I have chosen it, I must concentrate on it without distraction," said Qingzi. By facing the impact on the traditional media, Qingzi wanted to stick it as a newspaper editor.
