On the morning of June 25, 2019, the sun was shining on the earth. The construction workers were busy in the working area of Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone.
As the first national pilot zone in China with international medical tourism services, low-carbon ecological communities and international organizations, Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone has gradually developed in the fields of stem cell clinical research, cancer treatment, anti-aging medical treatment, and assisted reproduction. These four fields have formed industrial integration, accelerated construction and development, and actively explored ways to create a new highland for medical health.
At present, the pilot zone has officially accepted 71 investment projects, passed 38 medical technology assessments, and started 16 construction projects. In 2018, the medical institutions in the pilot zone realized operating income of 365 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 227%. The number of visits was about 32,000, a year-on-year increase of 69.1%.
The pilot zone is expected to reach 100 projects by 2030, with 41,000 employees, and an annual output value of 33 billion to 50 billion yuan.
