World New Energy Vehicle Congress to be held in Hainan

The World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2019 will be held in Boao, Hainan Province from July 1 to 3, inviting researchers and industry experts from the world to explore new trends of new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to its organizer.

Themed "New Era, New Revolution and New Industry," the three-day event is jointly organized by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the Hainan provincial government.

The event will highlight cross-industry integration for the NEV development, focusing on the integrated development of automobiles, energy, transport, communication, as well as the application scenarios of smart cities, according to Liu Xingping from the CAST.

The event will feature forums on zero emission vehicles, self-driving and future urban travel. It will set up an exhibition area of 5,000 square meters to display advanced technologies from more than 80 NEV companies.

The event will also display China's most recent achievements in its national key research on NEVs.

China's NEV market has seen vigorous growth in recent years. About 360,000 NEVs were sold in the first four months of 2019, surging by 59.8 percent from the same period a year earlier.

Haikou Customs strives to facilitate fruit export

From January to May of this year, Haikou Customs supervised the export of 28 batches of fruits worth 746,700 yuan ($108,600) at the Sanya port, a whopping increase of 10.52 times year on year.

The goods include fresh lychees, pitayas, and mangoes. The export market includes Netherlands, Canada, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and other countries.

To ensure the freshness of exported fruits, Haikou Customs implemented a no-holiday reservation service, as well as a quick inspection and release work mode in the whole process to speed up customs clearance.

In addition, the customs continued to optimize its risk monitor and control system, working to reduce the burden on enterprises. It also worked to encourage qualified enterprises to submit relevant applications to the provincial agricultural and rural affairs office to identify their products as "Premium Agricultural Products". With this label, goods will be exempted from inspection and quarantine certificates, as well as registration procedures when being exported overseas.

Haikou Customs also engaged in promoting the policies pertaining to the "Certificate of Origin", strengthened pest and pesticide residue monitoring, guided enterprises to improve the monitoring systems of epidemic diseases, as well as helped enterprises improve fruit quality and enhance their international competitiveness.
