At the invitation of Information Telegraphic Agency of Russia-TASS, recently, the journalists from Hainan Province went to TASS of Russia to study and participated in the training class. On October 29th, after completing all the courses, all the participants returned to Hainan.

The training was conducted in a combination of special lectures and field teaching. During the period of Russia, 25 leaders from the main press groups and relevant departments in the province visited the TASS and the St. Petersburg branch to learn about its history, organizational structure and business development. The reporters and editors of TASS gave professional lectures on how to train high-level journalists and spokespersons, how to get news clues from authorities, how to serve the essential national projects, and how to write political news, local news, international news, photo news, etc.

It is reported that TASS is one of the top five news agencies in the world, with an annual number of independent visits of 66 million.

It is the official network platform with the highest level, largest scale, most users and the widest coverage in the Russian-speaking region. In September 2018 and January 2019, Hainan provincial government and TASS signed the Cooperation Memo in Moscow and the Cooperation Agreement in Haikou on cultural promotion, which laid the solid foundation for bilateral cooperation. Based on the Agreement, both sides will constantly strengthen information exchanges and develop strategic partnership in the future.

In June of this year, “Captivating Hainan: The Land of Promise”, a special column of the tass.com, was officially launched. During the training, the trainees also observed the operation of the Hainan special column, and further discussed with the staff of TASS on the future of this column, which is regarded as an important platform for Hainan’s international exposure.

It is reported that the Hainan special column has been under steady operation, and all kinds of information about Hainan are released to more than 2 million international subscribers every day.

The content of this training closely follows the actual needs of the journalists, who had broadened their horizon and enriched knowledge. The trainees will earnestly apply what they have learned, and further enhance their sense of responsibility in doing a good job in the field of journalism, contributing to the construction of Hainan pilot free trade zone and free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
